Project Overview
Our client, a global travel connectivity provider, needed to simplify a critical but frustrating process for their customers on application: choosing the correct SIM or eSIM from hundreds of country, data, and duration combinations.
Their existing system overwhelmed users, leading to abandoned purchases and support calls. Our objective was to design an intuitive mobile app that guides travelers effortlessly from "I need data" to "I'm connected," increasing conversion and reducing support overhead.
Our Challenges
The main design challenge centered around creating an efficient smart search system capable of handling multiple filtering parameters while maintaining user-friendly accessibility.
The interface needed to manage complex product variations including destination countries, SIM types, duration options, and data packages without overwhelming users with technical complexity or buried navigation options.
Application Core Capabilities
Users start by selecting their destination, trip dates, and data needs through clear filter chips, not complex menus. The system instantly surfaces the three best-matched plans. This eliminates the paralysis of choice, allowing travelers to make a confident decision in under a minute instead of comparing dozens of confusing options.
The purchase flow is reduced to a few taps with total price clarity—no hidden fees. A single, prominent "Buy Now" button leads to instant confirmation. This builds trust at the critical moment of purchase, significantly reducing cart abandonment and ensuring users complete their transaction with peace of mind.
Users can activate their eSIM instantly or get pickup directions for a physical SIM. The app provides real-time data usage and easy top-ups. This empowers travelers with self-service, cutting down on pre-trip anxiety and post-purchase support calls, providing a seamless ownership experience.
The app displays verified pickup locations like airports and hotels on a map, integrated directly into the booking confirmation. This solves the "where do I collect it?" hassle, providing concrete next steps and integrating the digital purchase into the physical travel journey.
