The client required a web battle platform that could support cosplay competitions, fan voting, and admin-controlled reward operations under growing user activity. Newwave Solutions engineered the platform around a complete battle lifecycle, bringing creator profiles, competitive rounds, voting, rankings, payment flows and rule management into the same game operation layer. Upon full deployment, the platform successfully scaled to support 80K users. This enabled the client to establish a scalable model for converting cosplay interest into sustained fan interaction and reward-based community engagement.

Client Overview

The project focused on the client’s need to create a web battle game for the cosplay community, designed to help cosplayers build personal profiles, showcase their work, and compete through structured rounds.

A simple cosplay showcase would not be enough for the client’s goal. The product had to give creators, fans, and administrators clear roles inside the same game system. Cosplayers could present their identity through profile details, social links, rankings, and battle history. Fans could follow battles, vote for preferred cosplayers and participate through points, gacha and rewards. The platform also needed to support increasing user activity, transaction flows, and rule management as community participation expanded.

Business Stakes

Without a clear system to turn cosplay enthusiasm into a repeatable battle loop, the platform would struggle to sustain engagement and would face several business risks:

Weak repeat participation

Gameplay alone would not be enough to sustain long term user activity. If fans only viewed profiles or images without a structured reason to return, the product could remain close to a content showcase instead of becoming a recurring game experience.

The system had to support a large user base, high traffic, payment flows, rewards and transaction management. If performance or transaction operations became unstable, the client could face higher operating pressure and weaker confidence in expanding the game model.

Our Approach

Newwave Solutions approached the project as a community game system that could balance creator progression, fan participation, operational control, and high traffic readiness. This direction was prioritized because the product needed to move beyond a cosplay showcase. It needed to become a battle experience where profiles, voting, rewards, and transactions could support repeat engagement at scale.

Instead of treating creator profiles, battles, points, rewards and admin tools as separate functions, the team organized them around the full game journey. At the architecture level, our team also prepared high traffic from the start by considering future expansion, database load reduction and production stability before detailed implementation.

 Newwave Solutions delivered the web battle game with an 11 member team covering requirement clarification, UI/UX design, game development and testing. Over more than 14 months, the team kept game logic, payment flows, admin operations and changing partner specifications aligned throughout delivery. The final platform connected creator profiles, battle rounds, voting, rankings, rewards, transaction management and admin rule control into one operational game system, helping the client move from concept to a complete platform ready for high traffic community activity.

Risk Handling

  • One major technical risk was performance and payment reliability under high usage. Battle pages, voting actions, rankings and transaction history could create heavy database requests, while changing partner APIs and limited sandbox validation increased payment risk. If uncontrolled, users could face delayed battle updates, inaccurate voting status or failed transactions, weakening confidence in battle fairness and repeat participation. Newwave Solutions reduced this risk by using Redis Cache, Redis Pub/Sub and queue processing to stabilize voting, ranking and transaction flows, supported by AWS scaling, load balancing and production monitoring.
